A Slice Above: Pasquale’s Heads to the Final Four in RI’s Best Pizza Contest

There’s big news coming out of The Village at South County Commons — and it’s all about pizza.

Pasquale’s Pizzeria Napoletana, located right here at the Commons, has officially advanced to the Final Four in The Providence Journal’s search for the Best Pizza in Rhode Island, rising to the top of an original bracket of 32 restaurants across the state.

The competition has been anything but predictable, with major upsets and strong contenders falling along the way. In one of the closest matchups of the tournament, Pasquale’s went head-to-head with Bettola of Cranston in a high-stakes Elite 8 round.

With just 30 minutes remaining in voting, only 1,000 votes separated the two.

But in the end, South Kingstown’s Pasquale’s Pizzeria Napoletana pulled ahead — securing the win with 51.9% of the vote to 48.81%.

The matchup drew over 66,000 total votes, making it the most heavily voted round in the competition — by a margin of more than 28,000 votes compared to the next closest matchup.

A Destination for Award-Winning Pizza

Pasquale’s Pizzeria Napoletana has built a reputation that extends far beyond Rhode Island.

Located at 59 South County Commons Way, the restaurant has been named to the Top 50 Pizza list in the United States for four consecutive years — the only pizzeria in Rhode Island to earn this distinction.

Known for its commitment to quality and authenticity, Pasquale’s features three distinct styles of pizza — Neapolitan, New York, and Grandma — all crafted with premium imported ingredients.

In addition, Pasquale’s holds certification from the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana (VPN), one of the most respected organizations dedicated to preserving the tradition of true Neapolitan pizza.

The restaurant has also been recognized by Gambero Rosso in Italy and was selected to represent the United States following the induction of Neapolitan pizza into UNESCO’s cultural heritage list.

Community Support on Display

This advancement reflects not only the quality of the product, but the strength of the local community rallying behind one of its own.

From South County Commons to across Rhode Island, voters have shown up in a big way — and the momentum continues into the final round.
