There may be a few extra four-legged visitors at South County Commons this September — and some of them will be looking for a place to call home!
On Sunday, September 13 from 10 AM–1 PM, South County Commons and Audrey’s Coffee House & Lounge are teaming up with Mona’s House Animal Rescue for a special Dog Adoption Event outside Audrey’s.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs, learn more about the rescue and maybe even meet their new best friend.
Meet Mona’s House Animal Rescue
Mona’s House Animal Rescue is an all-breed nonprofit organization based in Groton, Connecticut, with a mission that particularly caught our attention: advocating for animals that are sometimes considered “less adoptable.”
The organization rescues, rehabilitates and works to find loving homes for older animals, medically needy pets, bully mixes and others that may otherwise have a more difficult time finding their forever families.
And adopting isn’t the only way to make a difference.
Representatives from Mona’s House will be on hand during the event to talk with visitors about fostering, volunteering and other ways to support rescue animals.
Dogs, Raffles & A Sunday at the Commons
The adoptable dogs will be outside Audrey’s from 10 AM–1 PM, while the fun continues inside with raffles and plenty of opportunities to support the rescue.
Audrey’s will also be serving its regular lineup of food and drinks, so grab a coffee, enjoy breakfast or lunch and spend part of your Sunday with us. Audrey’s is located at 60 South County Commons Way and is regularly open Sundays from 8 AM–3 PM.
Whether you’re actively looking to adopt, have been thinking about fostering, want to learn how you can volunteer or simply can’t resist stopping by to meet some adorable dogs, everyone is welcome.
