About Playa Bowls™
The Playa Bowls™ journey began on the Jersey Shore with founders Rob Giuliani and Abby Taylor, two longtime surfers inspired by their travels to surf towns across Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, California, and Hawaii. They fell in love with the local versions of açaí and pitaya bowls they found along the way — and decided to recreate those flavors back home in Belmar, New Jersey.
What started as a simple sidewalk pop-up — a blender, a fridge, and a patio table outside a pizza shop — quickly grew into a beloved brand known for its beachy spirit and wholesome ingredients. Eleven years later, Playa Bowls has grown to more than 300 locations nationwide, sharing their passion for bright flavors and positive energy in every community they join — now including South County Commons.
